Two employees are celebrating after chipping in with a fantastic display at a special event this week.

Crew Manager Colin Ramsay and Vessel Finance Manager Craig Muir, based in V.Ships UK’s Glasgow office, walked away with the top prize at the Scottish Shipping Benevolent Association’s (SSBA) annual golf day on September 5.

Around 60 players took part in the competition at the Kilmacolm course, including teams from Teekay, Western Ferries, Northern Marine, Clydeport, Caledonian Maritime Assets, Clyde Marine, Giles Insurance and Galbraiths.

It is the second year running the company has won the cup, and both men are delighted to have brought the Donald Trophy back to V.Ships after their strong performance on the day.

Craig said: “It was a fantastic feeling to win. Both of us played well so we had a feeling we were in with a shout. But that’s just how the game goes – some days you play well, others you don’t.

“Events such as this are great to take part in - not only because they are a lot of fun - but also because it gives people an opportunity to discuss work with clients and colleagues outside of the usual office environment.

“Hopefully we’ll be able to retain the title in 2013, as we’re getting used to having the trophy in the office now.”

The tournament, which was won last year by Chief Operating Officer Matt Dunlop and Technical Controller Andy Campbell, saw players compete in teams of two, as well as individually for the Cayzer Cup.

Recently retired Marketing Executive Bruce Lucas also won the Veterans’ Salver for the second year running.
